A native of Florida, born in 1957, Don McBath grew up in the Tampa Bay area. After graduating from Pasco High School, Don obtained his bachelor’s degree from St. Leo University and a commission as a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Army at the University of South Florida. Don has served in worldwide military assignments and received two Army Commendation Medals, the last one having been attained after serving in Operation Desert Shield/Storm. During the middle of his military career Don had to make a decision: advance further than the rank of a Major or attend law school and become a Licensed Florida Attorney. Don chose the latter and with his background of being in the military, he has served on the Military Affairs Committee for the Florida Bar.
Since being admitted to practice law in 1993, Don has handled thousands of family law cases all over the entire state of Florida. Don also has experience as a certified Family Law Mediator. Don is not only a member of the Florida Bar, but also the Military Court of Appeals and the Federal Middle District Court of Florida. Don is a member of the Family Law section of the Florida Bar.
Don is married, has four grown children and has been a leader in the community since the early 90’s. He served as a board member of the JC’S and past president of the Kiwanis Club. Don has been extremely active in his children’s activities. He was a coach and sponsor for the Legal Eagles, which was a team in the New Tampa Soccer Association. He also served on their board of directors and as president. Don was also coach and sponsor for a Northeast Little League baseball team.
Currently, Don is a member of the Rotary Club of Wesley Chapel; the Economic Development Committee of the Greater Wesley Chapel Chamber of Commerce; the Allohak District Board of Directors for the Boy Scouts of America (Fundraising Chairperson); and the Knights of Columbus at Our Lady of the Rosary (4th Degree).
